Strengthening Global Maritime Connections in Hamburg

Overview

From 1–4 September 2026, Zener Marine International Group joined the global maritime community at SMM 2026 in Hamburg, Germany, one of the leading international events for the shipbuilding, machinery and marine technology industries.

With more than 50,000 trade visitors and 2,300 exhibitors from 66 countries, SMM 2026 provided an international platform for maritime businesses, shipowners, operators, suppliers and industry professionals to exchange ideas, explore opportunities and strengthen business relationships.

For Zener Marine International Group, the event was an opportunity not only to showcase its presence within the international maritime sector, but also to reconnect with existing clients, meet new contacts and strengthen relationships across the global marine industry.

Two Strategic Locations, One Global Maritime Network

Zener Marine International Group was represented across two key locations during SMM 2026:

Stand B1.OG.119 – Algeciras Port

We joined the Port of Algeciras and its maritime community, connecting with shipowners, operators, suppliers and maritime professionals from around the world.

The Port of Algeciras’ participation focused on its position as a major maritime hub and its broad range of vessel and port-related services. Zener Marine International Group was among the companies participating alongside the Algeciras Port Community.

Stand B6.403 – ISES

At the second location, Zener Marine International Group represented its connection with the International Ship Engineering Service (ISES) Association, providing another valuable meeting point for maritime professionals, engineering specialists, clients and potential business partners.

Having a presence at two locations allowed the Zener team to engage with a wider cross-section of the maritime community throughout the four-day exhibition.

Building Relationships Through Face-to-Face Connections

One of the most valuable aspects of SMM 2026 was the opportunity to meet people face-to-face.

Throughout the exhibition, the Zener Marine International Group team – Francisco J. Montes Durán, CEO; Benjamín Meza Esqueda, COO; and Eduardo Torquato, Head Manager in Brazil welcomed existing clients, long-standing partners, industry colleagues and new contacts to both stands.

These face-to-face conversations provided a valuable opportunity to reconnect with established clients and partners, gain a deeper understanding of current industry needs, discuss ongoing requirements, and explore potential opportunities for future collaboration across international markets.

Spanish Tapas & Wine at the ISES Stand

On 3 September 2026, Zener Marine International Group hosted a special Spanish Tapas & Wine gathering at the ISES stand.

The informal event brought together industry contacts and maritime professionals for an opportunity to step away from the busy exhibition environment, enjoy Spanish food and wine, and continue conversations in a more relaxed setting.

The gathering was attended by Mr Scott Gibson, President of ISES, alongside members of the maritime community and Zener’s network.

The event highlighted an important part of Zener’s approach to industry relationships: creating opportunities for meaningful conversations beyond formal meetings and business discussions.

Meeting Existing Clients and Creating New Connections

SMM 2026 provided Zener with an opportunity to reconnect with existing clients and established industry relationships, while also introducing the company to new contacts from across the maritime sector.

The four-day event resulted in numerous conversations with professionals representing different areas of the maritime industry, helping Zener continue to develop its international network.

These interactions included:

  • Reconnecting with existing clients and partners
  • Meeting new potential customers and business contacts
  • Strengthening relationships within the ISES network
  • Connecting with maritime professionals from different international markets
  • Discussing current and future marine equipment requirements
  • Exploring opportunities for collaboration and business development
  • Sharing knowledge and insights across the maritime sector

A Valuable Platform for Zener Marine International Group

SMM 2026 reinforced the value of international maritime exhibitions as a platform for relationship-building, knowledge exchange and business development.

For Zener Marine International Group, participating through both Algeciras Port and ISES provided a broader presence and enabled the team to connect with different parts of the international maritime community.

The event also reflected the wider direction of the maritime industry, with SMM 2026 placing strong attention on security, resilience, efficiency, sustainability and technological development.

By being present at the heart of these industry discussions, Zener continues to strengthen its connections with customers, partners and professionals across the global maritime sector.

Looking Ahead

As SMM 2026 came to a close, Zener Marine International Group left Hamburg with new connections, strengthened existing relationships and valuable conversations to take forward.

The event was an important opportunity to meet the people behind the businesses, understand the evolving needs of the maritime industry and continue building long-term relationships across international markets.

Zener Marine International Group would like to thank everyone who visited the team at B1.OG.119 and B6.403, joined the conversations, shared their time and attended the Spanish Tapas & Wine gathering.

We look forward to continuing the conversations and building new opportunities together.
